Mrs. Nguyen (portrayed by Ginny Yang) is Tina, Tuan & Linda's mother. She and her husband are former residents of Vietnam, She and her husband left Vietnam for a new life in the United States of America. Her daughter Tina was the first member of her family to be born in the USA. She is the owner of a taylor shop in Fort Greene; her daughter Tina helps her run it. Her biggest customer was 1940s movie actress Lana Barnes; Tina even got a chance to work for her. As a Vietnamese parent, Mrs. Nguyen can be very strict to Tina, her brother Tuan and her sister Linda. Also she is very loving and cares deeply for her children. Her favorite flower is the white Vietnamese flower Mai.
