Linda Nguyen was the second Vietnamese American born into the Nguyen family. She is a minor character featured in the show.

Television Show[]

Linda appeared in "To Catch A Creep", where she was part of a video that Alex was creating for campaigning to be president of his school, then in a cameo in "To the Light", where she appears before the special supper with Vietnamese food at Tina's house.

Later, Linda is in a side story in "Over a Barrel", where her older brother Tuan had caused trouble for all three siblings by attending band practice instead of going to school. The first time that the restrictions were shown, Linda was holding a doll while singing a Vietnamese song, much to the annoyance of Tuan. He yells at her, after which she hides under a small table. She later holds up the tablecloth and grins at him.

Later, Linda and Tuan are together, with her singing the same song she had been earlier and Tuna accompanying her on his guitar. After she finishes, he plays the song again, this time also singing it in English.

Linda also appears several times in "Lost in Brooklyn". She is mentioned to be five-years-old in this arc.

Notes[]

  • The song that Linda sings in "Over a Barrel" is Hò Nện.

The Vietnamese lyrics that she sings are:
Ai về ...là hù là khoan
cầu ngói Thanh Toàn
là hù là khoan
cho em về với
là hơ khoan
một đoạn cho vui
là hù là khoan, khoan hỡi khoan hò khoan
là hù là khoan
Thương nhau...

Tuan sings an English version of the song:
Let's go back to Thanh Toàn Bridge
Just for fun; come on, let's go
The wind blows in the bamboo tree
Pagoda tolls, the rooster crows
Let's go back just for fun
Come on, let's go
